The Town of Sahuarita, with input from the public and community leaders, has developed a vision for attracting the types of amenities and private development that residents have time-and-again told us that they want for our town--a place for the communities of Sahuarita, Green Valley, and surrounding areas to socialize, dine, shop, work, recreate, and celebrate.
The original concept was born of our branding, communications, and marketing endeavors in 2016. In 2019, the town started a district overlay visioning process that might provide the framework for a future downtown. The district boundaries would extend south from Sahuarita Road to Duval Mine Road, and would be bordered by the Santa Cruz River to the east and by La Villita Road to the west.
Sahuarita Square would be a planned area in which policy, infrastructure, and programming would encourage mixed use, community connectivity, entertainment, arts, and culture.
