The Park/Trail Stewards Program provides opportunities to show support for your community by volunteering to maintain the cleanliness and safety of parks and trails.
Your efforts help enhance and maintain our public parks through cleanups, weeding, monitoring wildlife, and more!
Anyone interested in volunteering to maintain a portion of a park or trail is welcome to enroll in the program. Volunteers may include, but are not limited to individuals, families, corporations, community groups, and more!
Volunteer groups and individuals will visit the park or trail at least four times per year. The volunteer groups work in coordination with park staff by checking on the park and reporting needed repairs and maintenance. Depending on interests and skill set, people can take on projects such as picking up litter, removing or pushing aside debris on trails or pathways, clean signs or other structures, and other tasks as needed.
Volunteers must submit an Application for the individual or group volunteering. Prior to submitting a Park/Trail Stewards Volunteer Application, we encourage the volunteer to visit the site in person to determine the areas of the park or trail most interested in and develop a proposal.
Once your application is submitted, the Parks & Facilities Manager will schedule a meeting with you to discuss volunteer details and create a task plan.
Prior to getting started you will need to sign a waiver. A parent/guardian must sign for anyone in their care who is under the age of 18.
