Construction is underway at the existing intersection of La Villita Road, Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard, and Camino Lago Azul. The primary intersection improvements include a new traffic signal (replacing the existing 4-way stop) and a new south bound right turn lane (from Camino Lago Azul to westbound Rancho Sahuarita Blvd).
Between Tuesday, June 3rd and Friday, June 6th South Camino Lago Azul at the Rancho Sahuarita Blvd/La Villita intersection will be closed to traffic while crews begin making provisions to widen the northern leg of the intersection (for a new southbound right turn lane). Detour signs will be in place to guide traffic around the road closure. The road closure is anticipated to be in effect between 6:00am and 4:00pm each day with travel lanes restored to normal each evening.
Drivers will continue to see flagmen and lane shifts on Rancho Sahuarita Blvd as crews continue their work. As part of the ongoing construction efforts, drivers should be aware of all traffic control devices/signage and all speed limit reductions, as large equipment may be working near the roadways.
Residents will continue to have access to/from the Rancho Sahuarita Club house by means of Rancho Sahuarita Blvd and/or the driveway located along Camino Lago Azul just north of the Rancho Sahuarita Blvd/La Villita intersection.
