This is the August 12, 2014 construction update for the Sahuarita Road Phase II Project.
This week, within the Segment 2A and 2B Projects, crews will touch-up paint on the westbound Sahuarita Road bridge and finish installing the new sidewalk and decorative rock along the realigned Nogales Highway.
Within the Segment 2C Project, specifically between the UPRR tracks and Delgado Road, all Sahuarita Road traffic has been shifted to the new eastbound lanes. This traffic shift is allowing the construction of the future westbound lanes. Ongoing work includes an inlet extension on the existing concrete box culvert west of Delgado Road, the installation of new eastbound concrete sidewalks, and hauling/placing of fill material for the new westbound travel lanes.
As part of the ongoing construction efforts, drivers should be aware of all traffic control devices/signage and all speed limit reductions, as large equipment may be working near the roadways.
A summary of the anticipated short-term (2-3 week) construction activities can be seen in the August 12, 2014 Look Ahead Schedule
