After the morning rush hour on Monday, October 6th, 2014, all Sahuarita Road traffic will be detoured to a temporary railroad crossing just north of the existing Sahuarita Road.
Both directions of travel along Sahuarita Road (westbound and eastbound) will remain open, but minor delays may be encountered as the travel lanes are shifted to the temporary detour.
This temporary lane shift at the railroad tracks is allowing Union Pacific Railroad crews to begin work on the permanent at-grade railroad crossing and signal needed to facilitate the new 4-lane Sahuarita Road.
As part of the ongoing construction efforts, drivers should be aware of all traffic control devices/signage and all speed limit reductions, as large equipment may be working near the roadways.
