[ARCHIVED] Public Invited to Meet Chief of Police Finalists Nov. 3, 2014

Sahuarita Town Manager Kelly Udall announced today that three finalists have been selected for the Town’s Chief of Police position. The former Chief of Police John Harris retired September 12, 2014 after serving the Town for eight years.
“We are extremely pleased by the depth of experience, leadership and focus on community that each finalist exhibits. We’d like to give the community an opportunity to meet the finalists on November 3,” said Udall. According to Udall, citizens will be able to meet and greet the finalists on Monday, November 3, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sahuarita Town Hall, 375 W. Sahuarita Center Way.

The three finalists include:

Police Chief Gregory Anderson with the City of Oak Forest, Illinois. Anderson has more than 33 years of law enforcement experience and joined Oak Forest as Chief in 2010. He is responsible for leading and managing all departmental operations and functions. He previously served as Police Chief for the Village of Campton Hills, Illinois, where he was the first police chief and built the department from the ground up. Prior to that, he worked for the City of Aurora for 27 years, retiring as Deputy Chief of Police in 2007. Anderson holds a Master’s in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University.

Commander Paul Grohowski with the City of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Grohowski joined the City of Port St. Lucie PD in 2002 and has 18 years of experience in law enforcement. He serves as the shift commander over all police and support services, served as the SWAT Leader/Member/Sniper for over 11 years and was responsible for tactical planning and execution, including three presidential protection details. He supervised the Community Policing Unit and served as liaison for the master planned community of St. Lucie West. Grohowski holds a Master’s of Public Administration from Barry University.

Bureau Commander-Lt. John Noland of Santa Rosa, California. Noland has 30 years of law enforcement experience and has been with the Santa Rosa Police Department for 25 of those years. He is the current Bureau Commander Lieutenant over Patrol, Support and Investigations, managing upwards of 120 employees. He holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Development from CSU Sonoma and is fluent in Spanish.

Sahuarita anticipates extending a job offer by mid-November.
