After the morning rush hour on Thursday, December 11th, 2014, all Sahuarita Road traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed at-grade railroad crossing.
Once traffic has been shifted to the new railroad crossing, the temporary railroad crossing (that has been used for the past two months) will be removed and closed to traffic.
Both directions of travel along Sahuarita Road (westbound and eastbound) will remain open, but minor delays may be encountered during the lane shift.
Moving traffic to the permanent railroad crossing will allow for construction of the remaining westbound Sahuarita Road lanes (between Nogales Highway and the FICO offices).
As part of the ongoing construction efforts, drivers should be aware of all traffic control devices/signage and all speed limit reductions, as large equipment may be working near the roadways.
