[ARCHIVED] Sahuarita Road Construction Update – Tuesday 05/05/15

This is the May 5, 2015 construction update for the Sahuarita Road Phase II Project.

The Segment 2A (Sahuarita Road) and 2B (Nogales Highway) Projects were substantially completed in August 2014.

Within the Segment 2C Project, all traffic has been shifted to the ultimate lane configurations, with eastbound and westbound movements separated by a new raised median.

This week crews will be installing a new concrete surface across Sahuarita Road (near the pecan factory) that will serve as an equipment crossing area. Vehicular access will be maintained during the concrete paving operations, but minor delays and occasion flaggers/lane shifts should be anticipated. Other ongoing work includes the installation of new decorative rock along the roadway corridor. Final pavement marking installations are planned for the last of May, 2015.

Throughout the project limits, occasional/temporary construction zone lane shifts and speed limit reductions remain in place. As part of the ongoing construction efforts, drivers should be aware of all traffic control devices/signage and all speed limit reductions, as large equipment may be working near the roadways.

A summary of the anticipated short-term (2-3 week) construction activities can be seen in the May 5, 2015 Look Ahead Schedule.
