[ARCHIVED] Pima Mine Rd Bridge at Santa Cruz River Construction Update - Wednesday 08/26/15

This is the August 26, 2015 construction update for the Pima Mine Road Bridge at Santa Cruz River Project.

In May 2015, the Town of Sahuarita and its contractors began replacing the Pima Mine Road Bridge across the Santa Cruz River, as part of the Town's five-year Capital Improvement Plan. Construction of the project is divided into two major phases. Phase 1 includes removal and construction of the north one-half of the bridge and phase 2 includes removal and construction of the south one-half. Phase 1 is currently under construction while vehicular traffic is maintained on the south half of the bridge. Upon completion of phase 1 in December 2015, weather permitting, vehicular traffic will be shifted to the new section of the bridge and work will begin on phase 2.

The project is anticipated to be substantially completed in the fall of 2016.

Pima Mine Road is anticipated to remain open to vehicular traffic throughout construction, although intermittent lane shifts, flaggers, reduced speed limits and/or other temporary traffic control measures will be implemented within the construction zone.

Please obey all traffic control signs/devices and all speed limit reductions and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work area.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this vital and important work to improve the quality and safety of the Town of Sahuarita's transportation infrastructure.
