[ARCHIVED] Sahuarita Lake Park Water Levels

The Town of Sahuarita is performing inspection in anticipation of future maintenance of the lake at Sahuarita Lake Park. To facilitate this inspection, the Town is continuing to lower the lake level. All water supplied to the lake has been temporarily turned off and the lake water level has been dropping each day through natural evaporation. Beginning later this week, the Town anticipates pumping water from the lake to an empty basin north of North Santa Cruz Park to lower the water level to accommodate the inspection schedule.

Once the level in the lake is low enough, the Town will conduct an evaluation of the lake wall and liner to determine what repairs or other maintenance activities may be needed. It is anticipated that some maintenance may be performed prior to refilling the lake and additional maintenance may be scheduled for a later date.

The Town appreciates your ongoing patience during this process. Please observe all signage around the lake.

Stocking of fish in the Lake has ended for the summer, which is an annual occurrence at this time of year by Arizona Game and Fish. People can still fish in the lake however, please use caution.
