On Monday, July 8th and Tuesday, July 9th, crews will be paving the final lift of rubberized asphalt on portions of Sahuarita Road. Specific areas of work include the new eastbound lanes between La Villita Road and Nogales Highway and the new westbound lanes between the Santa Cruz River and Nogales Highway.
As part of the paving efforts, drivers should be aware of all traffic control devices/signage and all speed limit reductions, as large equipment will be working near the existing travel lanes. Minor delays may be encountered as travel lanes/patterns will be shifted throughout the day to accommodate the paving efforts.
Paving during the summer months help us minimize impacts to traffic as the daily vehicle volumes in the area are reduced while the local schools are on summer break. We thank the traveling public for their patience and understanding during the construction of the Sahuarita Road improvement project.
