[ARCHIVED] Pima Mine Road and Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard Traffic Signal Improvements

The Town of Sahuarita Department of Public Works will be upgrading the traffic signal control equipment at the intersection of Pima Mine Road and Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

Work will begin at 9:00 A.M. and should be completed by 4:00 P.M. The traffic signal will be inoperative while new electrical connections are made. Stop signs will be in place and the intersection will operate as a three-way stop. Travelers should expect minor delays and exercise additional caution in the work zone.

Traffic signal improvements include a new traffic signal equipment cabinet, a new signal control computer and upgraded electronics. A preemption system providing emergency vehicles a green light will be installed as part of this project. Flashing white beacons which indicate when the signal has been activated by approaching emergency vehicles will also be added to the traffic signal to improve safety.

These improvements were funded through a grant from the Tohono O’odham Nation.
