Our Town engineers have determined that some stop signs in our community were unwarranted and do not meet federal standards, so they have been removed. As required by law, the Town of Sahuarita follows the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) which is published by the Federal Highway Administration, and as of 2009, all states (and local jurisdictions) must conform to this. You may have noticed some stop signs being removed in areas such as Rancho Sahuarita, which have included the Corte Calza cul-de-sac, the intersection of Calle Capotasto and Camino Flauta, and others. If you have questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 344-7100.
