The Town of Sahuarita Planning & Building Department is requesting a Minor General Plan Amendment. The General Plan is a policy guide for the orderly growth of the built community of Sahuarita.
The amendment will consist of two parts: 1) Clarifying the criteria for a Minor General Plan Amendment to allow a change from a Commercial or High Density Residential land use designation to follow the Minor plan amendment process instead of the Major plan amendment process; and 2) Cleaning up the list of zones for each land use designation to remove zones that we no longer have and to add zones that were created within the last few years.
This proposal does not change the land use designation or the zoning for any land. The Minor General Plan Amendment process requires a public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission followed by a Town Council public hearing. The anticipated Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing date is November 1, 2021, at 6 p.m.
